The night long passed, the barrier of sin
Now conquered by the Lamb of God, through his
Propitiating sacrifice for all
The human race, to set them free to win
Eternal life, theirs to choose or reject.
In Him will they find rest for weariness
A yoke so easy and a burden light
In exchange for a labour cumbersome
And ladenness so heavy in its weight.
Eternal promise; faithful, good and true
As weary eyes look upward to the skies
And far beyond in their mind’s eye to see
A glimpse of vision bright, eternal hope
Of the eternal city, wherein dwells
The holy and most blessèd Trinity,
And all the saints who put their faith and trust
In Jesus, Lamb of God, abiding in
Eden, in virgin innocence, restored.
O happy souls, throughout perpetual day,
Sing praises to the Lamb, the King of Kings
And Lord of Lords, the mighty conqueror.
O sovereign Yahweh, send your holy fire
To burn within us, purging us from all
Within us that is not of you, to cleanse,
Restore, revive and shape our hearts to bend
To your most holy will, forever held
In love’s tender embrace, faithful and true.
In surety and certainty keep us
Within the hope of resurrection where
We will behold the restoration of
Eden, which will be our eternal home
Forever, without end. Amen. Amen.
