Prayer

Surrounded by the love of God
May our lives be
Caught up in praise and prayer
A constant offering.
Devoted lives attaining
And strength and joy receiving
In readiness to give our all for Him.

Within the holy Eucharist*
May our lives show
Our union with God
In this great sacrament.
Prayerful minds remembering
On spiritual food feeding
And going out into the world for Him.

By intercession may our lives
Become a means
Of prayer to establish
The kingdom of the Lord.
Creating a sacred space
Whereby we may seek His face
And offer up our sacrifice to Him.

We may have much time on our hands
Or little time
To bring before His throne
The needs of all the world.
Recognising constantly
Prayerful needs perpetually
Pleading His kingship over human hearts.

And for ourselves may we receive
His cleansing love
And reconciling power
By sacramental means.
Casting off past sin and guilt
That our lives may be rebuilt
So peace and hope may be restored once more.
