Restoration

Inaudible and distant, woeful cries
Of Satan and his army, suffering
The eternal flames of holy Yahweh’s wrath
For sin will never and can never be
Evident in the new Jerusalem
As was of old, now human history
Has reached its end, a new reign has begun.
For who can fully comprehend the mind
Of Yahweh and His justice, for His ways
Are not our ways, neither His thoughts our thoughts.
Dare we to question, challenge or rebut
The mind of Yahweh, with human thinking,
Reasoning, deduction with our imperfect
Responses? There can be no other course
But to accept in lowly submission
All that has passed and all that will take place.
Salvation history is now complete
And is to history itself consigned,
Those heavenly annals bearing witness to
The rule of Yahweh and the Lamb of God
And Holy Spirit, triune victory.
A new heavenly circumstance beheld:
New Heaven and Earth to replace what had gone
Before, when judgement of the dead was made
And death and Hades were consigned unto
The lake of fire and those whose names were not
Recorded in the Judges’ book of life.
From this new sealess creation there came
The new Jerusalem, in beauty clothed
As a bride adorned for her nuptial spouse.
An acclamation loud and bold was heard
To say that Yahweh’s dwelling place will be
With His people, and he will wipe away
All tears from their eyes. Death will be no more,
Mourning, crying and pain will not exist
These are but symptoms of the old order
Of things which have now passed away for good.
John the Apostle, in this vision heard
The voice of Yahweh, saying He would make
All things new, and to the Apostle that
He is to make a written record of
What is to take place. Yahweh spoke the word
And all was done without a second more.
Alpha and Omega, the beginning and
The end. Water of life is to be given
To all who thirst and given without cost.
All this will be the inheritance of those
Who are victorious, Yahweh is their God
And they His people for eternity.
The lake of fire, which is the second death
Awaits all those recorded as cowards,
And unbelievers, the vile and murderers,
The sexually immoral and all those
Who practice magic arts, idolaters,
And all who utter falsehoods. None of these
Will be able to escape the fiery end.
Let Yahweh’s justice be upheld forever.
The last of all unworthiness now sent
To its perpetual torment in the lake
Of fire, now comes the time when the city
Of Yahweh will be seen as described in
The Apocalypse, the revelation of
The dwelling place of blessèd Trinity.
Bride of the Lamb in sheer magnificence
Bejewelled adornment wedded unto Him,
Repentant of their sins, now washed away.
O happy wedding day! Let joyous sounds
Of celebration ring out in the streets!
Let worship, honour, majesty and might
Sound in perpetual melody to the Lamb,
The Saviour, King of Kings and Lord of Lords,
The one and only Son of Yahweh who
By His most perfect and most holy will
Has brought all things to this resplendent time!
One of the seven angels who had borne
The seven bowls of the seven last plagues
Did summon the Apostle there to view
The beautiful bride and the wife of the Lamb
A sight most resplendent was now beheld
Having been taken by the angel in
The Spirit, to a mountain great and high
To oversee the new Jerusalem.
From a descent of such magnificence
Out of the far and lofty heights of Heaven
So high and distant, nigh unscalable
As it would seem to naked human eye,
Descending down to the new earth, the sight
Displaying Yahweh’s glory, dazzling bright
And much too bright for human mortal sight
But in the Spirit, perfect brightness clear,
The clarity of a precious jewel, like
That of jasper as clear as crystal glint
A wall of jasper, square in shape all round
Surrounded the city, its height and width
The same in measurement as was the length,
In every instance fourteen hundred miles
So vast in each proportion. The angel
Had, with a measuring rod made out of gold
Measured the city in its entirety
In but an instant. Twelve gates were within
The wall, three on each side and made of pearl
Each gate a single pearl and guarded by
An angel, and on each gate was written
One of the twelve tribes of Israel. The wall
Had twelve foundations. Written on each one
Was a name of the twelve apostles of
The Lamb. The city was made of pure gold
Like pure glass. And all the foundation stones
Of the city wall were adorned with precious stones.
Of every stone so precious could be seen:
Jasper, sapphire, chalcedony, emerald,
Sardonyx, sardius, chrysolite, beryl,
Topaz, chrysoprase, jacinth and amethyst.
The street within the city was pure gold
Like glass of purest clear transparency.
Within the new Jerusalem there was
No sanctuary, for Yahweh the Lord
Almighty God and His most blessèd Son
The Lamb will be its sanctuary, for
No need of curtain as in former times
To bar the way to Yahweh’s presence, but
For annual visitation made solely
By the High Priest on behalf of the people.
The sanctuary is open, one may come
Into the presence of Yahweh and of
The Lamb, who by His blood shed on the cross
Completed the salvific redemption
To bring all those who heard the gospel and
Who by their acceptance of that same Word
Can come into the Presence and enjoy
Eternal life and peace in Paradise.
Neither the sun or moon are needed here
For Yahweh’s glory has lit up this place
And Jesus, Lamb of God is now its lamp.
This light will lighten up the way by which
All nations shall walk; in perpetual light
Shall their footsteps be made. O blessed light,
Which keeps us in the way of light and peace
For evermore, happy are they who walk
In this state of radiant, perpetual bliss!
Kings of the earth will bring their glory to
The light; a humble, graceful worshipping.
Daylight serene shall ever present be,
The gates of pearl will be open always
For night is vanquished, darkness has no place
In this eternal city. The glory
And honour of the nations shall be brought
Into the city. Entrance will not be
Permitted to those who are deemed defiled,
Abominable and of lying tongue,
But only those whose names are written in
The book of life of Jesus, Lamb of God.
Apocalyptic vision now is near
Completion with the restoration of
Eden, that earthly paradise now seen
In the new city of Jerusalem.
Water flows down the middle of the street,
A flowing river of refreshment true,
Life-giving water, everlasting stream
To feed and nourish the tree of life that stands
On either bank and yielding every month
Its fruit and leaves, the latter which will give
Healing unto the nations, prophesied
Long time ago by holy, mortal man
Ezekiel the prophet, now the words
As spoken by the Holy Spirit through
Those mortal lips will find their fulfilment.
No curse of any kind will ever be
Present, for entry will be barred to such
Malevolencies. Room will only be
For benediction from Yahweh’s right hand
And of the Lamb whose thrones will ever be
In that same city, Eden, Paradise.
Continual, happy, joyful service will
Be given by the servants of Yahweh
And of the Lamb, and they will see the face
Of Him who is their Saviour and their Lord,
His holy name written on their foreheads.
They are His children and He is their God
In innocence restored will they live in
Eden, for in that paradise there is
No tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
The latter dispensed with eternally.
No reminder is needed of the time
When Eve took of the fruit forbidden her
And of her husband Adam which did cause
The downfall of the human race, yet this
Disastrous incident was the forerunner
Of the plan of salvation for us all
And to deal once for all with evil and
Consign its author to the sulphurous lake,
Along with all those who reject the plan
Of salvation and those who fought against
Michael and all the heavenly host who saw
Satan and all his evil angels fall
Like lightning from Heaven, now they are cursed
For evermore in the flames of torment,
According to the righteous judgement of
Yahweh, who is forever praised. O let
His praises ring out now and evermore
In the eternal city, blessèd home.
Perpetual daylight will forever be
Present, for only purity and love
Will fill the hearts of those who reside there,
For Yahweh and the Lamb of God will give
That light so perfect, holy, pure and true
And they will reign with Him eternally.
O Eden, Eden, such eternal bliss
Will be restored to you, sweet Paradise
Abode of Yahweh and His blessèd saints
Who serve and worship and who take their rest.
May we who strive on earth enter that rest
And taste your fruits and thereby nourished be,
Reward of endurance and faithfulness
And wearing golden crowns of righteousness.
