The Scarlet Christ

With arms outstretched
The Christ who bore our sins,
Forgives and pardons
The wrongs that we have done
In love.

Raised up to die
Blood-splattered and alone,
Redeems and renews
Our broken, sinful lives
By grace.

Pain-racked and pierced
The Lamb who knew no sin,
Has become for us
A scarlet offering
For sin.

Look upon Him
And know that He has paid
The ultimate price,
To make our scarlet deeds
As snow.
