Mary immaculate, the spotless maid
The Mother of the spotless victim who
Has conquered death and opened up the gates
Of Paradise, in this pure act did grant
With Yahweh and the Holy Spirit blessed
Her gracious entry, without pain of death
To Paradise, in fullness of body
And soul, yet we may not have full knowledge
Of such a grace, unlike Elijah who
When crossing the Jordan on dry land was
Taken from Elisha by chariots
Of fire, and horses of the holy flames
Into Heaven in whirlwind strong and sure.
Extraordinary grace for this servant
Whom we assume, despite imperfect state
Was carried into holy portals, there
To taste the fruits of immortality,
His mission ended, taken to his rest
But who in later times would appear with
Moses and Jesus in transfiguring
Light, shining as the sun, dazzling whiteness
A blinding light, a terrifying sight
For human eyes to fully gaze upon
Or understand. Now we can never know
If Mary was taken with chariots
And horses of fire as was Elijah
But for one holy, sinless maiden, we
Surely may assume that her ascent to
The shores of Paradise would be of such
Magnificence, power and beauty bright
A sight that human eyes could not withstand,
But fitting for the maid immaculate
In whom the stain of sin original
Was never nor could ever be allowed.
Yet her mission between heaven and earth
In apparitions to pure, lowly souls
In centuries past and in present times
And certainly in future times will be
Made manifest to those appointed by
Royal decree from Heaven’s holy throne
For the pure Lady to impart the will
Of God Almighty unto human hearts
To save all sinners by penitential
Acts for their conversion and salvation,
That none be lost but come to taste the fruits
Of Paradise and everlasting joy.
Dear Mary, of this singular special grace
Bestowed upon you from on high, is just
Reward for your obedience to Yahweh
To be the mother of His blessèd Son
Who came into the world to save it from
The evil serpent whom you now do tread
Upon its head to crush it there, to kill
All evil intent from its poisoned mind.
Lady of the Assumption, we now wait
In joy and expectation for the day
To see you crowned in Heaven’s canopy
O just reward from Jesus, King of Kings!
With you, we worship Him, as King and Lord
Faithful and true, the majesty on high.
To him be praise and worship without end
With you, dear Mary, holy heavenly queen.
