The Resurrection and the Life

Based on John Ch 11: 21 – 26

Profundity of faith
That came from Martha’s lips
To Jesus, Lamb of God
Despite limitation
As to the extent of
The faith being professed.
The Lamb of God now guides
Martha’s thinking towards
Himself, for He is now
The resurrection and
The life, by which all who
Believe in Him, will live
And never die, despite
Lifeless mortal remains
Consigned to dust and ash.
It is the soul that lives
Beyond the grave unto
Its heavenly, happy home.
We must believe in him
He is our hope, our joy.
But stubborn disbelief
Consigns the soul to hell,
Wailing, gnashing of teeth,
Bitterness and regret
For there, all hope is lost.
We hear the Saviour ask:
“Do you believe in me?”
