I have now started to write sonnets concerning the miracles of Jesus. I have divided them into four categories: Healing, Deliverance, Phenomena and Resurrection. In a sense, they are all phenomena in their own right but I have put them into these categories for information. The bible references will be shown by the title of each sonnet. There are approximately 40 such miracles by Jesus recorded in the New Testament, despite the fact that different Gospel writers give differing accounts of them. For instance, Matthew’s Gospel concerning the demoniac who lived among the tombs in the region known as the Gerasenes states that there were two such persons, whereas Mark and Luke state only one. In this case I will go with Mark’s and Luke’s accounts, though I may draw on information from Matthew.
In view of the differing lengths of the accounts of all the miracles, it would appear to be difficult to put everything into just fourteen lines! The sonnets, therefore, will mainly be a reflection on the miracles, rather than a verbatim account of each one. I hope that you enjoy the sonnets and are greatly blessed by them.
